Homepage

• The homepage should help give you a basic understanding of the features and functions available on the Learning Community Portal
• This is a place to view new posts, see important updates, and start navigating through the different sections of the blog
• There will be a set display of blog cards that users can scroll through, with important posts being pinned to the top of the page

Posts

• The main purpose of the learning community portal is to allow users to share interesting facets of knowledge through a blog-style environment
• Posts can include many forms of embedded media, such as photos, videos, links, documents and more
• Once created, each post will have its own viewable page, as well as a spot on the homepage for others to see
• When creating a new post, there will also be an option to publish to the Discourse learning community site as well

Discourse

• The Learning Community Portal also features a Discourse site that expands the platform into a forum-oriented setting
• As mentioned above, users are able to create a blog post on WordPress, and simultaneously publish a topic on Discourse from that post
• Topics (like posts in WordPress) can then be used to discuss different ideas and thoughts in a thread-like manner
