Learning Community Portal Basics
The main purpose of this site is to host a blog-style counterpart of the Discourse community
Posts you find on here will be more detailed, and often summarize discussions from Discourse
What you need to know
- The posting structure is slightly different on this site and will not involve comments or back and forth discussion
- The homepage will host two separate entities: Pinned Posts and Latest Posts
- The Pinned Posts will be shown as 3 blog cards are at the start of the page
- Below them will be the Latest 10 posts also in a group of blog cards
- You can interact with any blog card on the page, and by clicking on it, you will be brought to a new page with the full post
Categories
- There are a set of categories that each post will fall under, and can be seen on the blog card itself
- Notice on the image above, each of these two posts is under their own category (designated in purple text)
- If you click on the category of the post, you will be brought to a separate page containing all posts within that category
Individual Posts
- As mentioned earlier, you can view a full post by clicking on any of the blog cards
- Currently, the site is populated with demo posts to give an idea of the post capabilities
Site Navigation
- On both the homepage menu and the footer, you can find a link to the site navigation page
- Generally, you can access most (if not all) content directly from the homepage, but the site navigation page gives a hierarchical view of the site and overall structure
- Here, you can navigate through different posts, find posts by category, and access some of the different pages that exist on the site
- Anytime you need to go back to the homepage, you can click the site logo or site title at the top of every page
Discourse
- You can access the Discourse community anytime from this site by using any of the links present on the site
- Both the homepage and site navigation page include the link if you ever need it
